Wheels are turning..
journey with an organic approach and appreciation for illusion,flight,motion
sonics and human nature, Music being the force
behind the turning of the wheel..wasted tasty wheels..
Hawkville is being recorded at the Jetroom Studios in Burbank. The songs soundtrack
the sci fi western graphic novel Vishy Noir.
The tracks..'this
boat' 'dig' 'we are' and 'seven' range between evocative swampy groove oriented beats and with a soulful ambiance/
open string guitar and the help of a green bullet mic. We like to think of it as bringing some consciousness to the dance..dark,
soulful, melodic. Lyrically conceptual,the songs derive from the premise that a "ship is safe in the harbour,
but that is not what a ship was built for".. about embracing Experience Curiosity and Irony as Natures way of letting
you know when to leave shore. No illusions here..just the sweet awareness that this boat is sinking..
We make music and art..thats all. Its not about being a rockstar..I dont have that type of ambition .
Theres a liberating quality to working on ones own terms. I dont like to fall under the spell of tradition or authority or
fame. Creativity requires freedom, its important to be reminded of the value of art for art's sake. But I am determined
to move the vision forward..for those of us who appreciate true illusion and find the truths that are relevant to our
times. We like the idea that reality yin digs illusion's yan. Catharsis. Spagetti westerns and 50' sci fi films,
gorden lightfoots 'sundown', george harrison's all things must pass, bradbury, Gibran...following the muses that beckon...dreaming
of unfamiliar sky.. The Future looks back remembering native ground..remembering all that we have so far witnessed merely
a dream..that creating a better wave requires freedom of expression and identity and some appreciation for the duality
involved in creation..this is the essence of nature, humanity, art and faith..that there is an inherent tendency to evolve
that neither human nature nor fascism nor oppression can deny...think of it on a cellular level..stripped to the bone..then
look up to the skies and Space and Time become more than our preferences..when we think in terms of black and white, half
the universe is diminished..that silence is also a point of transformation..that we are aware and consider the alternatives..the
fusion in which we are shaped..remembering Gibran and Black Elk...that all things related to its source are soulful and beautiful
even in darkness...that faith is not necessary to understanding the nature of things..that freedom is most elemental..without
it what can evolve regardless of intention..life responds with a delicious precoded knowing..and so in a universe of limitless
possibilities we still tend to lean...
We would like to thank Feudal Records... for
their support and dedication to this project.
We also had the idea to
partner up with X Prize Foundation ..to promote science as a vital creative way of understanding the nature of things and
inspiring an appreciation in the duality involved in all apects of creation..even the imaginings of children, humans, dreams
of ghostships, gunslingers and skywatchers, wanna be's and know-it-alls, good guys bad days. More to come soon.
